The plays a major role in your first impression. You need to be careful as to the "loudness" of your tie. The tie needs to match your personality, not accentuate it. It should be common to your outward demeanor. If you are happy go lucky all the time, wear a tie that expresses color and is vibrant. If you tend to be more kept to yourself, try solid bold dark colors or ties with stripes. Also, be careful when selecting a skinny tie. These ties typically only work well on a skinny frame. My favorite tie is rich in red, with white stripes outlined in blue. Now while this tie is absolutely powerful against a blue suit, I am better known for my ability to wear that whacky tie. Don't go through on a crazy tie and walk out the door thinking it will make you look fun and personable. It is highly likely you will be looked at as someone who doesn't know what to wear these days. Never wear an overly whacky tie to make a first impression. Let bold powerful solids and stripes leave behind your mark as a person on someone else.
Brands
Anyone can buy a tie from anywhere and that tie look absolutely spectacular. You don't need some fancy name brand tie to make yourself look good. However, there are some name brands you should be aware of and shop whenever you can. I highly suggest these brands and own them myself.
