A few months ago Jonathon and I had the opportunity to go to New Orleans for a little mini getaway (of the sorts). We went with a large group of people but we did manage to find some time to our selves to enjoy the city! We both really enjoyed New Orleans. I definitely preferred being out in during the day because the evenings out on Bourbon could be a little rough but we found a couple of really awesome places to hand out at!
On Saturday morning we were able to enjoy an amazing brunch at Red Gravy in the French Quarter it was amazing I could not say good enough things about it! It is a very small place that specializes in an Italian Twist on Breakfast and is also a Farm to Table restaurant which I think is amazing! I ordered the Meatball Omelet while Jonathon ordered the special of the day which was a Doughnut Burger! After that we walked around the city taking in the French Quarter area.
After roaming the city for most the afternoon we settled in at Pat O'Brien's for a few cocktails and that was a great place! By far my 2nd favorite place for drinks the whole trip! Then we got ready and went to dinner at a local Oyster house and after that it was a night out on the town! We ended up spending some time at a great small bar at the far end of Bourbon Street, that is actually the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. Built in the 1730's. It is entirely lit up with candles! It is a really awesome place to grab some after dinner drinks!
