It's Friday! Time for another round up of Friday favorites. Above is a picture of a great designer beach towel collaboration from One Kings Lane! This weekend my parents are coming into town to finally drop off my chairs that I have been waiting for for months! And while they are here we are going to enjoy the long weekend outside at the Crowne Plaza Colonial Golf Tournament! Jonathon and I usually go to this event and it is something we look forward to every year! I am sure we will also enjoy a couple of great dinners and some quality family time!
What are your exciting plans for this Memorial Day weekend?

It is ever man's responsibility to keep himself informed. To remain knowledgable. It is not enough to walk away from college with a degree and expect that you now have all the knowledge you need. There is a big world out there with plenty going on. I want to walk you through some news sources that I like to pull from. 1. The Wall Street Journal. It offers more than just what savy stock brokers and investors need. You truly get a look at world wide politics, business, sports, etc. Now I know that most news sources can offer this same wide range of news, but nothing says "This guy knows what is up" than opening up that Wall Street Journal at the coffee shop. 2. Financial Times. Very similar to The Wall Street Journal. I feel though that it offers more World Wide news. It offers the news you need for a Global Business Community. 3. Your local paper. Pick it up and read it or log onto the website. It is important you stay informed with what is going on in your own backyard. 4. Vice Magazine. To me, this magazine is new. It offers an amazing picture of the world we live in. I find it to truly have the human interest at heart. They dig into humanity, an area of focus we should all have. 5. Time Magazine. This iconic magazine is second to none. They have the reader at mind and help keep you informed on everything from pop culture to political catastrophe. You just simply can't go wrong reading this magazine. Where do you get your news from? It's Friday and I could not be more excited! I apologize so much for being gone from the blog for a while you guys! My life is in a transition phase and I have been a little sick. But one reason why I am so glad that it is Friday is that Jonathon is FINALLY coming home from being gone for over a week! I really do like to celebrate the little things and so I decided to plan a special little date night for him on Saturday, he doesn't know what we are going to do so it will be great! I love to leave you guys with some great weekend inspiration, and this week Grey Malin is having another sale on One Kings Lane! (I would LOVE to have the piece above hanging over our couch in our living room!) And if you have not you need to go check it out! Have a great weekend loves! Let me know if you guys have anything fun planned?
The honest answer: You Can't! But let's face it. We are going to wear flip flops or sandals or some sort of foot fashion that women will poke fun of. More than likely, your own friend will make fun of you too. Don't worry though, he will soon wear Mandals for you to make fun of. However, there are occasions where Mandals are perfectly acceptable. Places like the lake, the beach, or in the privacy of your own home are all places where Mandals can be worn without looking bad. Places like dates (unless on the beach), concerts, and going out to the bars with your friends are places where Mandals are not socially acceptable. Let me shown you the two pairs of "Mandals" I own. The Chaco: Now this is my mandal of choice. It is adventurous and durable. I have worn it to the lake, the river, and even fishing. This particula mandal I find acceptable to wear when you go out grocery shopping or somewhere where dressing up isn't necessarily required. Going on a long road trip? Throw these bad boys on and hit the road Jack! The thong: Now mine is all tan, but this is pretty much the model that I own. You can see here it has a nice rubber sole with a good nylon/leather strap. You want a thong/flip flop that looks durable and made to last. Stay away from the Old Navy $2.99 rubber flip flops. They make you look too cheap. What mandal are you rocking during this beautiful weather? |
